Empty Legs

Empty flights make up 40% of European private charter operations.

However you look at it, that’s a terrible waste. One of our first priorities at Stratajet was to address this terrible inefficiency, because we know when things become more efficient, they get better.

Our empty leg technology isn’t like any other brokers’. They simply take lists of flights that are happening and dump them on the web, hoping the most tenacious - or possibly bored - travellers will sift through them and change their plans according to the availability of an empty flight. Instead, we find a way to change the aircraft’s movements to match those of customers willing to travel very nearly the same route at very nearly the same time as the plane’s original, non-optimised routing.

A subtle but powerful difference

By combining knowledge of where aircraft are, how they perform (using Strataroute), and how much it costs for them to fly to any airfield (using our pricing engine), we can not only give accurate quotes, but efficient and energy-saving ones as well.

The operator wins through better fleet utilisation, the traveller wins through lower priced charters and the industry wins through more efficient operations. Win-win-win.
