From sprawling metropolises to the most luxurious sun and sea resorts – and maybe something in between – there are many destinations to entice next year, and some that you may think you know but have still more to explore.
Martha’s Vineyard
Located just off the coast of Massachusetts, Martha's Vineyard is a quaint island offering beautiful sandy beaches, picturesque towns and a thriving seafood and culinary scene.

New York
Madison Avenue, New York
Starting with a city like no other, there is the one and only New York. Sure, shopping on Fifth and Madison Avenues might be familiar, perhaps dinner too at Per Se or one of its other fine Columbus Circle neighbours, but in a city with so many distinct neighbourhoods in Manhattan alone there is always something that deserves another trip back.

The Lower East Side has become a mecca for the Fashion Week and music crowd who enjoy rooftop bars and pools and numerous small and smart cocktail bars, but there are still delights in the streets that once housed tenements. After brunch at Dirty French, stroll north to the East Village and browse the small boutiques between Tompkins Square Park and the Village to the west, trying a modern Indian lunch at Babu Ji, or the Austrian fare at Edi and the Wolf.

Then hop in a cab for all of 10 bucks and head to the home of Lena Dunham’s Girls, and see Manhattan in all its glory from Greenpoint in Brooklyn, a view that makes most picture-postcard snaps from the heart of the city redundant. If not full already be sure to try the clay pot baked bread at Anella, and any of their specials from a New American menu with Mediterranean flavours.

For a serene and cosy vibe head west, to the West Village. The Spotted Pig remains a favourite with an English twist, but for something Italian and fresh try the delightful trattoria Via Carota on Grove Street. After, start an exploration of all that embodies American art with the new Whitney Museum followed by a stroll on the High Line (though choose a quiet time for that if you can). Jet in to Teterboro Airport and experience New York in the New Year.
Maui
Maui, Hawaii
If the sea calls there is always Maui. The second largest of Hawaii’s islands is home to some world famous resorts, but you cannot go wrong if you head to the Four Seasons at Wailea which has been renovated throughout, and as well as the most attentive of service enjoy the largest and most luxurious rooms on the island. With the days always sunny, anytime is perfect for a visit.

Relax on the beach, go diving or snorkelling, or head to the south of the island to see the Hawaiian green sea turtle in Turtle Town. In the evening head to Mama’s Fish Housefor a Hawaiian sampler and breath-taking ocean views. If you visit in the winter months be sure to go whale watching, as the whales migrate to the warmer waters from Alaska. To get to Maui book your private jet direct to Kahului Airport.

Las Vegas
If you prefer a show on stage rather than in the water, head to Las Vegas, for a colourful party like no other. Away from the gambling – which is of course a must – you cannot miss the shows, and the world-famous residency at Caesars Palace by Celine Dion is a true spectacle. There are also the Blue Man Group, Penn & Teller and Cirque du Soleil among the others to catch.
Las Vegas
Stay at the infamous Bellagio, or if you fancy a little bit of zen calm try the 181-room Nobu Hotel, an oasis within Caesars Palace, for a taste of this eponymous restaurant group’s first hotel rendering. Avoid the commercial flight crowds and land at McCarran airport, only 12 minutes away from Caesars Palace.

With the bustle of international cities, year round relaxation and action on the beach, or the chance to play hard and enjoy some of the best entertainers in the world, 2017 could certainly be the year for a jaunt you are sure to remember.
