Taking place at the luxurious Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) in Orlando between November 1st and 3rd, the Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (BACE) is set to be three of the most important days in the business aviation calendar. 7 million square feet will be used to exhibit and display the latest news in the aviation industry. Many big figures in the industry will be present for the event to check out the latest innovations and advancements, as well as to listen to one of the many educational sessions on offer.

Founded in 1947, the NBAA has become the leading organisation for companies that rely on general aviation aircraft to help make their businesses more efficient, productive and successful. The convention garners interest from current and prospective aircraft owners, manufacturers and customers, bringing them together on one platform to get critical work accomplished.
A huge event even for the US, it is unmatched within its industry and is ranked as the 6th largest tradeshow in the country. With over 1,100 indoor exhibitors, 27,000 aviation industry professionals and many displays of aircraft, it is no surprise this event attracts global networking, business, and entrepreneurial interest annually.

this years Highlights
This year’s static display promises to be extremely exciting with many new innovative and world-class jets on display, and some new technologies and contenders. On display will be the new flagship jet for Dassault Falcon Jets, the 8X, which recently completed a flawless world tour, as well as a mock-up for the biggest Falcon yet, the 5X.

Honda will also be displaying one of their 12 HondaJet aircraft, which utilise overwing podded engines to achieve lower wave drag at a high Mach number, and larger cabin spaces.

On show will also be the in-development Cessna Longitude, which is not scheduled for introduction until 2017, and boasts the longest maintenance intervals in its class, of 800 hours.

events not to miss
The day before NBAA-BACE formally starts, the NBAA Single-Pilot Safety Standdown will present the most effective safety strategies for owner/operators. With informative presentations by experts in the field such as Earl Weener of the National Transportation Safety Board, and panel discussions by training providers and industry manufacturers, operators will certainly benefit from a variety of perspectives on today’s most pressing safety issues.
Honeywell will be presenting talks on maximising User Experience while controlling cost, and representatives from Bombardier Aerospace, IBAC and Gulfstream will be performing a talk on the future of aviation through environmental policy. The Innovation Zone will also be returning this year and will feature sessions highlighting new technologies and concepts, including different philosophies and approaches to the industry, such as “Retaining Talent in a WIIFM Culture (What’s in It for Me?)”, “Creating a Leadership Vision” and “Leading Without Authority.”

The emerging technology session will discuss the advancing use of consumer technology in business aviation, in training, operations and maintenance, and how the increasingly mobile world impacts business aviation. It will be presented by big figures in the tech industries, Drew Costakis of Microsoft, and Jimmy Cho of Jeppesen.
